Peter Eden decided, and rightly so, that our name “Expression” was a bit ‘cabaret’, something a bit quirky perhaps? Not wanting to change the name completely as we had a very good status and fan base, we are now “Sadie’s Expression”.
We were now starting to change our image, our dress code until now was far from desirable, as seen by some of the early photos. We would spend a lot of our days off in the West End, mainly Carnaby Street, Kings Road and Kensington Market in a conscious effort to update our stagewear. Playing the same venue every week was expensive on clothes. Our Regency jackets were probably my favourite, I had a couple and wore them most of the time off stage as well. We were “Glam” before the word was invented. Mick H had some brocade trousers made from curtain material. They actually looked really good but they were the foundation for his new temporary nickname... ‘Curt’.
